The Old School House is a comfortable, Victorian schoolhouse, built in 1838, set in pretty, mature gardens with plenty of off-road parking. The unspoilt village of Cardinham is close to the edge of Bodmin Moor and Cardinham Amenity Forest; about 2 miles from the A30 north of Bodmin.
The accommodation is a centrally heated, double en-suite room with a bath, colour flat screen TV with Freesat, and refreshment tray. A full English breakfast is served in the orangery, including home-made bread and preserves, free-range eggs and locally cured bacon and sausages. Guests are welcome to relax in the orangery and garden.
We offer free wi-fi access and a wide range of maps and information on local places of interest. We have wealth of local knowledge and are willing to book tickets and meals for guests if required.
Cardinham is an ideal base for touring, riding, cycling, walking and bird watching.
The spectacular North and South Cornwall coasts are about 1/2hr drive and the wonderful open spaces and ancient monuments of Bodmin Moor just a mile up the road. The Eden project is also about 1/2hr by car and there are a number of beautiful National Trust properties and gardens nearby including Lanhydrock just 15mins away and Cothele House and garden, a gem, on the Tamar Valley only 40 mins.
Guests are assured a warm welcome to our home and we will will endeavour to make your stay one to remember.
