Whether it's for business or pleasure, if you have to be away, make sure your dog has a safe and happy stay while you're gone. Your canine companion deserves to have a comfortable and enjoyable time whilst apart from you. Here at The Dog Dorm we only take two doggie guests at a time (three if they are from the same home) and we specialise in individual care, providing a Home from Home environment, day and night.
We don't use kennels - your dog will stay with us and our two dogs in our own home, a cottage on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. To minimise any disruption for your dog we feed their usual food, at their usual time; they sleep in their own beds and play with their own favourite toys - or join in the fun and games with Moss and Alfie!
We have over 25 years experience living with and caring for dogs, and Moss and Alfie are very sociable and like to have other dogs visiting. We have a secure garden and, located on the edge of Bodmin Moor, our situation is ideal for long traffic free walks on the Moor or in the local woods. In the evenings we have a cosy log burning stove where the dogs can curl up together and snooze.
Our goal is for your dog to have a happy, comfortable and safe stay with us, so if possible we like to meet new dogs sometime before they board with us to make sure they will be happy with us and Moss & Alfie, and vice versa. Whether our doggie guests are here for a one night sleep-over, a day-away, or a two week holiday we make them feel at home from the moment they arrive.
To help your dog settle and enjoy its stay we ask you to bring his/her bed, bowl, collar & lead, favourite toys and sufficient of his/her regular food to cover the duration of their stay. We are also happy to give medication if your dog needs it.
We usually feed twice a day, morning and evening, but if your dog's routine is different we will feed at their usual time. We have a walk in the morning and again in the evening after meals, and go for a long walk during the day. At other times the dogs can play or relax in the garden or in the cottage - it's not unusual to have 3 or 4 dogs curled up in our home office with us! We don't shut the dogs away, so they have company whenever they want it, and all the dogs' beds are together in the "Dorm".
