Hole Barn

 - St Neot, Liskeard

Hole Barn2Hole Barn1

Hole barn has had many faces since it was built in 1727, including blacksmith's, grain store and piggery. Now it is a comfortable two bedroom cottage with wonderful views of the countryside from the upstairs living area. As one of our visitors enthused: "I could stand at the sink and watch the cows, the cats and the buzzards for hours." It is part of Hole Farm, an ancient farmstead whose history goes back at least until the thirteenth century. Visitors are welcome to explore its 18 acres with pond, stream and bluebell wood. In spring the cornish hedges (stone fences) are full of native daffodils and primroses. The night sky is full of stars, the Milky Way clearly visible.

The cottage has solar electricity and central heating, as well as a wood burning stove with Freeview television and dvds, games and books. The private garden has a barbecue for those nights when you fancy staying in.

There is a kingsize double bed and two adult-sized single beds, plus a travel cot, high chair and stairguard if needed. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. The kitchen is very well equipped, and includes a dishwasher and microwave. There is a washer-drier.

Hole barn is perfectly placed for both coasts and Cornwall's glorious gardens. The Eden Project is 35 minutes away and the Lost Garden of Heligan 40 minutes. It is on the edge of Bodmin Moor with its wonderful walking. The owners' agent is West Country Cottages, which has given Hole Barn a 5-star 'Highly Recommended' rating.
