Gilldene Holiday Cottage is nestled in the beautiful Glynn Valley on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor and twixt Liskeard and Bodmin. The cottage is centrally located which makes it ideally suited for exploring all of Cornwall and West Devon, including both north and south coasts, The Eden Project is just 13 miles and many National Trust Houses are nearby, such as Lanhydrock, Cotele and Pencarrow, to mention but a few.
The cottage is situated not 200 metres up from the Halfway House , a conveniently sitauted public house which serves typical pub food, at the end of a quiet lane with 5 houses, which runs some 300 meteres away and parallel with the trunk road A38. The cottage is just past our B&B house Gillwood, so Sheila and I are always near at hand if required. It is also worth noting that we do have B&B guests at times who are visiting other guests in the cottage, in case this should be of use to your friends and family. The house and cottage are set in 12 acres of mainly woodland with river frontage to the River Fowey which runs east/west some 200 meteres below the southerly outlook. The boundary of the land is 800 meteres downstream where the River Warleggan, running north/south, joins the Fowey. There is a bridleway which runs up our lane and through the land giving a beautiful riverside walk along part of the Fowey and beyond.
The cottage is very well equipped offering a double bedroom with en suite shower/toilet/handbasin, a twin or double bedroom, a family bathroom, all leading from a large lounge/diner/kitchen. Well behaved pets are welcome with an abundance of lovely walks in the grounds and on Bodmin Moor. A very popular cottage with pet owners, so try and book early to avoid any disappointment.
